Greenpoint is full of cuteness! Come check out some of my favorite stores:
B.E. Yarn
784 Manhattan Ave
(between Calyer St & Meserole Ave)
I love this store, but they don’t have a website or pictures because it’s a total mom & pop store! It’s so great to be in a neighborhood where everyone sews (even our Rite Aid has a whole sewing section, but who wouldn’t rather shop from their local craft store?)! After living in Manhattan and dealing with a) lack of a Michael’s or Joanne’s Fabric and b) the a-hole “wholesale-only” stores in The Garment District, it’s great to be able to pick up a few notions for cheap. Hooray!

Fred Flare
131 Meserole Ave
(at Leonard St)
I love this store so much!!! I was a huge fan of the Fred Flare online store, and it was by some great “coincidence” that we moved in right down the street from their first real live store in Greenpoint! Fred Flare specializes in cuteness, and they have all the stuff that Punky Brewster would crave as a 20/30-something lady-girl. It’s aesthetic is like if Hello Kitty was a fashion buyer for Urban Outfitters. OK, well it’s not that complicated: IT’S JUST SO DARN CUUUTE!!! If you like everything with hearts, bows and smiley faces on it like me, then this store is for you!

Old Hollywood
110 Meserole Avenue
(between Manhattan Ave & Leonard St)
This adorable store is kitty corner from Fred Flare, and it’s got moxie! They have a great mixture of vintage and new designer pieces, and the price range reflects the eclectic mix too. You can get cute little rings and accesories for under $20, but there are also gorgeous dresses that are a hundred bucks and up. It’s more affordable than a lot of the vintage stores in Williamsburg, as well as less snobby and more accessible. You feel like you walked into the dressing room of a 1940s secretary who moonlights as a pinup girl!
